Lake Stevens Bathrooms

This project took on solving the problem of not having enough bathrooms for a busy family. We took two awkward shaped closets and transformed them into a proper powder room and a large shower room so that multiple people can use the space at the same time while maintaining privacy.

The biggest design challenge we faced was the sharp angles of the ceiling of the two small rooms we were to convert. We were able to increase the footprint of the rooms, and build storage in what would otherwise have been dead space by having small access doors.

The homeowners were concerned about the space being too dark, due to the closets having not enough lighting. We stuck to mostly light-colored materials and brought in can lights and wall sconces to lighten up the space.

The sloped ceilings of the two closets both were sloped and had odd shaped soffits. Rather than try to make the rooms fit a shower and toilet, we moved the spaces out and increased the footprint of the bathrooms.

This allowed both the shower and toilet to have plenty of headspace where you did not need to worry about hitting your head on a sloped ceiling.

The remaining spaces behind the vanity and shower were finished, and we added doors to access. They now have a spot in the shower room for extra bathroom supplies and towels. We added a door and light to the space behind the vanity and shower room creating long term storage.

Large Bathroom Vanity with Storage

This vanity has lots of drawers for storage. The full wall mirror also makes the space feel even larger and brighter.

Powder Room Vanity Sink

A square drop in sink and chrome plumbing trim were chosen for this small but functional vanity.

Shower with a showerpan and rainhead

We went with a Florestone shower pan for it's long lasting durability. A rainhead was placed from the top of the ceiling due to the sloped ceiling not allowing for a traditional showerhead.

Finished Walls

The remodel blends seamlessly into the rest of the house, you wouldn't know the bathrooms weren't always there.

porcelain tile with grain texture

White textured tile ties in the pattern of the floor to the color of the countertop creating a cohesive look.

laminate flooring with a wood print

Laminate flooring was used in the bathroom to give the look of wood without the worry of water warping the ground.

Iced White Quartz for the countertop

Countertops were from a slab of Iced White Quartz by MSI Surfaces. This material has a beautiful texture and is easy to clean.

Mocha Maple Glazed Cabinets

We used Grand JK Cabinetry's Mocha Maple Glazed cabinets in both bathrooms, which tied into the look of the rest of the house with a warm wood finish.
